To be Fully Restored / 2023-ongoing
A Rare Veteran Emerges Once More
Just when we thought finding one FWD HAR-1 was extraordinary, a second surfaced — almost as if history wasn’t finished telling its story. Discovered shortly after we acquired the first, this truck stands as another rare link to the past: untouched, unmodified, and remarkably original. It’s a sober machine, carrying the scars of time but also its greatest treasure — its original Waukesha engine still in place. A true survivor.
But make no mistake: this is a full-scale restoration project. Mechanically and visually, every inch will need attention. Worn components must be repaired or replaced, and some parts are simply gone — lost to time and incredibly difficult to source. The search is already underway, reaching across borders and collections worldwide in pursuit of the missing pieces. Just like the SU-COE, the original General Service cargo body is no longer with the truck. Rebuilding it will be a future chapter, guided by history and craftsmanship, to return this vehicle to its authentic wartime form.
Finding one was luck. Finding two is something else entirely. Now begins the challenge of bringing this rare machine back from silence to significance.
